Terms of Service

Last updated

These terms cover tryfriday.io and Friday reservations. Please read the Reservation Terms before you place a $20 deposit.

About these terms

These Terms of Service (“terms”) are an agreement between you and Edge AI, LLC (“Edge AI”, “we”, “us”). Edge AI makes Friday and runs tryfriday.io. By using this website or placing a reservation, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to place a reservation.

Resolving disputes includes an arbitration agreement and a class action waiver. It changes how disputes between you and us are resolved, and it explains how you can opt out.

Reservation Terms

What a reservation is

A reservation holds your place in line to buy Friday. You pay a $20 deposit through Stripe to make one.

  • A reservation is not a purchase. Paying the deposit does not buy a Friday, does not create a contract to sell you one, and does not give you ownership of any unit.
  • You are not obliged to buy. You can cancel and get your deposit back at any time before your Friday ships.
  • If you do buy, your $20 deposit counts toward the purchase price.
  • Each reservation covers one Friday. A household can hold up to 5 reservations in total. We may cancel and refund any reservations beyond that limit.
  • For now, we only ship Friday to addresses in the United States.

Cancelling and getting a refund

You can cancel your reservation any time before your Friday ships.

  1. Email support@runedge.ai from the email address you used to reserve, and say you want to cancel.
  2. We refund the full $20 to the card you paid with, within 5 business days of your request. We don’t charge a cancellation fee.
  3. Your bank usually shows the credit within 5 to 10 business days after we send it. If we refund you shortly after you paid, the original charge may simply disappear from your statement instead.

Refunds can only go back to the original card. If that card has been closed or replaced, your card issuer normally credits the new card or sends the money another way. If a refund fails, we’ll contact you to arrange another way to pay you back.

Once your reservation is cancelled, you lose your place in line. If you reserve again later, you join the back of the line.

Please ask us for a refund before disputing the charge with your bank. A refund from us is faster, and it’s always available before your Friday ships.

Transfers

Reservations can’t be transferred, sold or given to someone else. Your reservation is tied to the email address you used to make it.

Price

Friday’s current estimated price is $1,299. This price does not include sales tax or shipping.

The price is not locked in and may change before you buy. If it changes, we’ll email you the new price before we ask you for any more money. You then choose to buy at the new price or cancel for a full refund of your deposit. Sales tax and shipping charges will be shown to you before you buy.

Ship dates and order of delivery

“Summer 2027” is an estimate, not a promise. It is when we expect the first Friday units to start shipping. It is not a promise that every reservation will ship in Summer 2027.

We fill reservations in batches. Founding reservations come first (see Founding 100), and all other reservations follow in the order they were paid. Depending on your place in line and how many units we can build, your Friday may ship after the first units do.

Confirming your purchase and paying the balance

We never charge the remaining balance automatically. We don’t save your card when you pay the deposit. When your Friday is close to shipping, we’ll email you:

  • a firm ship date,
  • the final price, plus sales tax and shipping, and
  • the purchase terms, including warranty and return terms, and any software or service terms that come with Friday.

You then choose to buy or to cancel. You pay the balance only by completing the purchase yourself. If you cancel, we refund your deposit as described above. If you don’t do either, your reservation stays open and your deposit stays on file until you buy or cancel. We won’t cancel it or refund it automatically, except in the cases described under If Friday is delayed and If we cancel Friday or your reservation.

If Friday is delayed

If we can’t ship by the date we gave you, whether that’s the Summer 2027 estimate or a firm ship date, we’ll email you before that date passes. The email will give you a new ship date, or tell you that we don’t have one yet. You then choose:

  • Keep your reservation and wait for the new date, or
  • Cancel and get a full refund of your deposit.

What happens if you don’t reply:

  • First delay of 30 days or less: we treat your silence as agreeing to wait until the new date.
  • First delay of more than 30 days, or no new date: we need you to tell us you want to keep waiting. If you don’t, we cancel your reservation and refund your deposit automatically.
  • Any later delay: we need your express agreement again. If you don’t give it, we cancel your reservation and refund your deposit automatically.

You can still cancel for a full refund at any time while you wait.

If we cancel Friday or your reservation

If we stop making Friday, or decide we can’t ship your unit, we’ll cancel your reservation, tell you, and refund your deposit automatically. You don’t need to ask.

We may also cancel and refund a reservation if we reasonably believe it was made fraudulently, by automated means, with someone else’s payment card, or in breach of these terms, or if it was accepted because of a clear pricing or technical error. We always refund the deposit in full when we cancel.

Founding 100

Until 11:59 pm Pacific Time on October 1, 2026, up to 100 paid reservations are Founding reservations. The counter on our site shows how many are taken. A Founding reservation means first access: Founding reservation holders are first in line, in the order they paid, when we open purchases and ship units.

Founding reservations don’t come with a discount, a guaranteed price, a guaranteed ship date or any other benefit. The Reservation Terms apply to them in the same way. If a Founding reservation is cancelled before the offer closes, its spot reopens for the next paid reservation.

Friday is still in development

Friday hasn’t shipped yet. Its design, features, specifications, software and included services may change before it does. What you see on this site describes our current plans, and it may not match the final product exactly. If a change significantly reduces what we’ve described, we’ll tell you before you’re asked to buy, and you can cancel for a full refund.

Build updates

Reservation holders may get occasional email updates about Friday’s progress. You can unsubscribe from these at any time, and doing so won’t affect your reservation. We’ll still send the emails we need to about your reservation, such as refunds, delays, price changes and your purchase confirmation.

Using this website

You agree not to:

  • use the site or the reservation process for anything unlawful or fraudulent;
  • create reservations with automated tools, or test payment cards through our checkout;
  • scrape, overload or interfere with the site, or try to get around any security or access controls; or
  • pretend to be someone else when reserving.

Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s own terms. We never see or store your full card number.

Our content and trademarks

The site, including its text, images, video, 3D models and design, belongs to Edge AI or our licensors. “Friday” and the Friday orb are our brand assets. You may view and share pages from the site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify or reuse our content or branding for anything else without our written permission.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

Disclaimers

We provide the website “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties about the website, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise the site will always be available or error-free.

Descriptions of Friday on this site, including features, price and ship dates, are forward-looking. They reflect our current plans and aren’t guarantees. The warranty for Friday itself will be in the purchase terms you receive before you buy.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from the website or your reservation; and
  • our total liability for any claim arising from the website or your reservation is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and $100.

Nothing in these terms limits your right to a refund under the Reservation Terms, or any right you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Some states don’t allow certain limits on liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

Resolving disputes and arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to go to court and to join a class action.

Talk to us first

Most problems, including refunds, can be solved with an email. Before starting any formal claim, you and we each agree to send a written notice describing the dispute and what you want. You send yours to support@runedge.ai. We send ours to the email address on your reservation. Both of us will then try in good faith to resolve it for 60 days before starting arbitration or a small claims case.

Binding individual arbitration

If we can’t resolve a dispute informally, you and Edge AI agree to settle any dispute arising from these terms, the website or your reservation by binding individual arbitration, not in court. The arbitration will be run by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. It will be held remotely or in the county where you live, unless you and we agree otherwise. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this agreement to arbitrate. We will pay the AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees that its Consumer Arbitration Rules require a business to pay.

Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Either of us may also go to court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

No class actions

You and we may bring claims only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative action. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person’s claims, and may award relief only to the individual party seeking it. You and we both give up the right to a jury trial.

Mass filings. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed against us, or by us, by the same or coordinated lawyers, the AAA will administer them in batches under its mass arbitration procedures. This is meant to keep costs and delays fair for everyone.

If a court decides that this class waiver can’t be enforced for a particular claim or type of relief, that claim or relief goes to court and not to arbitration, after any individual claims have been arbitrated. This includes public injunctive relief under California law. The rest of this section still applies.

Opting out of arbitration

You can opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these terms. Email support@runedge.ai from your reservation email address, with the subject line “Arbitration opt-out”, and include your name. Opting out doesn’t affect your reservation or any other part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn’t subject to arbitration will be heard only in the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we agree to the jurisdiction of those courts. This doesn’t take away any consumer protection your home state gives you that can’t be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll post the new version here and change the “Last updated” date. If a change to the Reservation Terms materially affects existing reservations, we’ll email reservation holders before it takes effect, and you can cancel for a full refund if you don’t agree. Changes don’t apply to disputes that arose before the change.

Other legal terms

  • Whole agreement. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the website and reservations. The purchase terms we send before you buy will govern the purchase itself.
  • Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • No waiver. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we haven’t given up the right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You can’t transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours, for example if our business is sold. Your refund rights come with it.
  • Events outside our control. We aren’t responsible for delays caused by events we can’t reasonably control. Your right to cancel and get a refund still applies.
  • California residents. Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
